I am signing up my son or daughter for small sided or recreational soccer. Why should I register early?
To be able to recruit enough coaches and prepare the season schedule, we need to know how many teams we must plan on. By registering early, Cascade Soccer Club will have adequate time to recruit a coach for your child's team. Also, once the schedule cut off date arrives, we cannot form additional teams. Players who register after the schedule cut-off date can only be placed on teams with open roster spots. No new teams can be added after the cut-off date, so registering early allows us to plan accordingly and form an adequate number of teams.
If I do register late, will my child be placed on a team?
Cascade Soccer Club makes every effort to place your child on a team, but each season we do turn away players because they were not registered in time. We will contact other local clubs and attempt to find a spot for your child, but they are often faced with the same issues we have.
I registered early, but I was told that the team may fold. Why?
Even if you register your child early, Cascade Soccer Club is an all-volunteer organization and relies on volunteer coaches. Once we know how many coaches are needed, we contact coaches from past seasons and recruit as many returning coaches as possible. Each season we need to recruit new coaches for the younger ages as those teams are being formed for the first time, plus other coaches do not return due to other reasons, so we are always in need of new coaches. Before a team is folded, each parents on the team will be contacted and offered an opportunity to coach. If no parent is willing to volunteer, we have no other option than to fold a team and refund the fees.
